Worried About Unstable Leaders?

Have you ever longed for stability in your world?

In a time of turmoil and instability, Isaiah saw a vision of God on his throne along with the greatness of his glory and majesty (Isaiah 6). The text contrasts their current situation of instability (the unstable reign of King Uzziah) with God himself. This is a literary tool where the writer doesn’t give a complete explanation but leaves it to the reader to discover the meaning for themselves. Of course, the Israelites would have gotten the point as they heard this passage being read. As they knew the history of their kings.

Human leaders are prone to pride and abuse of power. So don’t get upset or contorted in your emotions regarding how people react in the world. We have God as our stability. He never fails. He has sustained this earth from its creation. And he will sustain it till the time he has determined for it.

It’s the same situation with your life. What are you facing? Turmoil? Terminal sickness? Financial distress? Whatever your situation, it’s clear that you must stick close to God for he is the only one powerful and reliable enough to sustain you.
