Make a list of things in the past that continue to bother you. If the list gets too long, just limit it to one page.
Then make another list. A list of things that you are grateful for. It could be things like family, church, business, your job, or anything that you appreciate in life. Maybe you don’t find any of those things to be of much value in your experience. Then you’ve got to select Jesus and his love and forgiveness. After all, he has loved you with an everlasting love that never ends.
Let the love of Christ be your most precious possession and experience. It could be the most valuable thing you’ve ever had. And yes, it is the greatest.
Maybe you get my point. Keep your eyes on those things you are grateful for rather than on things that bother you. Others may claim that you are avoiding reality or ignoring the facts. Refocusing your attention is not denial, rather it is something that will put your life in a different perspective.
There are plenty of things in life that need refocusing. Learn to hold things loosely. Be quick to let things go.
