He had the crowds, but the crowds didn't have Him

During the early part of his ministry, many believed in his name due to the miraculous signs he performed. He surely had the crowds early on in his ministry.

“But Jesus on his part did not entrust himself to them because he knew all people and needed no one to bear witness about man, for he himself knew what was in man.” (John 2:24-25) 

But the crowds did not have him!
